Palm Harbor Homes Wins
Prestigious Design Award

Dallas, TX, April 5, 2005

Palm Harbor Homes, Inc. today announced that it has won a National Industry Award for Excellence in Design from the National Modular Housing Council, a division of the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI), for the second consecutive year. The award was presented on March 30, 2005, at the National Congress and Expo for Manufactured and Modular Housing held in Las Vegas, Nevada, an annual event that brings recognition to the industry's best in creativity, design and functionality. Each year, MHI accepts submissions for awards in various categories based on excellence and conceptual innovation in both modular and manufactured home design and production. All entries are judged by a panel of independent experts in the fields of architecture, development, home construction and other real estate related areas.

Best Modular Home Award Winner

At this year's expo, the Company received an award for "Best Modular Home (over 1,800 square feet)–Production Category" for the Cambria, a new home by Discovery Custom Homes, the modular division of Palm Harbor Homes. With over 2,600 square feet and four bedrooms and two and a half baths, the Cambria was designed to meet the needs of a growing family. The unique floor plan includes family and media rooms on the second floor, providing an open study and entertainment area. Exterior elevations include built-in porches and traditional gabled elevations reminiscent of the 1940s and 1950s. The Cambria is specifically designed for urban narrow or infill lot applications, a compelling new market niche for modular housing. The Cambria, like other Discovery models, is ideally suited for families seeking a quality home with the convenience of urban living.
